Happy St. Patty's Day

I love decorating for holidays. I love changing things around and this is such an easy way to do! And pretty cheap because I make a lot of them myself!

I have made lots of blocks like these before. I don't have a cricut, and don't want to spend the money on one. So I just print off letters from my computer cut them out and use some spray adhesive.

I love subway art, it's such an easy way to decorate, especially for holiday's that are harder to decorate for. I found this free printable from here

Thanks to Pinterest I found this idea for a fun easy and cheap wreath! All it took was some foam tubing from Home Depot, two colors of tissue paper from the dollar store, some hot glue, and shiny clear spray paint. I found the shamrock in the middle at shopko for 60% off!

The Birthday Boy

Preston was not very excited about his birthday this year, he thinks 23 is old. He kept saying he remembered when Mitch (his older brother) turned 23 and thinking how old that made him. So I wanted to make sure this birthday was a great one. We lucked out and his birthday fell on a Wednesday that I didn't have to work at the bank or the salon, and it's Preston's easy day at school. So I decided to celebrate all day. When he got home from PT, I had crepes and fruit ready for breakfast, and his surprise present wrapped and waiting. I got the idea for his present awhile ago, and had the hardest time not telling him! He always knows what gifts he is getting so I really wanted it to be a suprised but really wanted to make sure it was what he wanted, so I was very sneaky and tricked him. Our TV is possessed, it changes inputs on its own, sometimes theres only sound and no picture, and its very old school, so I bought Preston a new flat screen TV. I knew it was something he wanted (and I wanted a entertainment stand that matched my other furniture) so I told him we should get one once we got our tax return back. He of course thought this was a great idea and started telling me what he wanted. We finally found the ONE a few weeks before his birthday so I just stopped talking about it since we weren't getting our taxes done until right before his birthday. The night before his birthday (yes I am a procrastinator) Shae & I went to Sears to pickup the TV. Well the TV (a 50" plasma) was last years model and they didn't have any in stock, and neither did the Idaho Falls store and no they wouldn't be getting in anymore. So after i freaked out for a little bit I decided to stick with the same price I was planning on spending him and got a 40" LCD, and asked about there return policy. If Preston wants to upgrade or get something else he can't but at least he would have something to open on his birthday. I found an entertainment stand at Shopko for $75 that was normally $225, so his presents were ready to go.

he said once he saw the boxes he had an idea it was a TV but never would have thought that's what he was getting, it was a combined present from me, my parents, and his parents.

he couldn't belive it

Sadly he didn't get to play with his present because he had to go to his morning class. We went out for lunch at the Works (like subway), and he decided he wanted fried chicken for dinner, so while he was doing homework I gave it a shot! It actually turned out really good, he said it was as good as my mom's and her's is very yummy so I was happy. He also said he wanted a cupcake so thanks to pinterest I found a reciepe for Cupcakes For Two It was perfect and so easy! I had leftover homemade whipped cream from the crepes so I just used that as frosting!

We both decided they were good but not our favorites, but a lot better than the two of us eating a whole batch of really good cupcakes!

Don't judge me in these pictures one was early in the morning and the other one late at night! I put together the TV stand while Preston was doing homework and we finally had time to put the TV up on Friday! Preston said it was a great birthday and thats all that matters to me!

Hopes of Spring

Idaho weather is crazy, everyone knows that, one day its 10 below, the next there's 40 mph winds and the next its 50 degrees and sunny. Lately we've been lucky and have had a few of those 50 degree days, so hopefully that's signs of things to come, even though it doesn't seem like it's winter yet because of no snow! But I'm ll for the warm weather so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Sunday was one of the first beautiful days and it was so nice to be able to do something outside and not be cooped up all day. After church Preston and I both were trying to find anything to do that would keep us outside. I finished up a few St. Patricks decorations, and Preston worked on getting my bike ready for Moab. Bandit loved being outside most of the day, when he was tired of running around he would just find the sunniest spot he could and lounge.

GOOD DEED

My sweet friend from beauty school Megan Lloyd lost her husband Josh on Monday after a battle with Lymphoma. Megan and Josh had a relationship filled with love. This sweet girl has been left with medical bills from his treatment and several month stay at the Huntsman Institute in Salt Lake City. PLEASE, if you feel like doing your good deed for the day, donate whatever you want/can to an account set up for his wife and family. Anything will help!

A benefit account for Megan and the Lloyd family has been set up at D.L. Evans bank. If you would like to donate to this account you can either stop in at any D.L. Evans Bank and make a deposit or send a check to D.L. Evans and make it payable to the benefit account for Josh Lloyd. To find a D.L. Evans near you please visit http://www.dlevans.com/ .

Please find it in your heart to make some type of donation. With the many medical bills that accrued over the last six months every little bit will help.
